What is Co-Funding?

Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.

Across Yorkshire, 30% of children live in poverty, rising as high as 68% in some areas of Bradford. Crisis calls to the local Mind project increased 35% in 12 months, with waiting times as long as 2 years.  

Families in need of support and an opportunity to re-set are referred to The Principle Trust , which provides families in crisis with seven nights’ accommodation. Each break provides a holiday setting, a starter food parcel and time to rest, reconnect and recover from trauma.

This ALMT grant will fund 40 free breaks will be offered for children experiencing poor mental health through partnerships with trusted local services including Mind in both Hull and Rotherham. Beneficiaries will include children affected by mental ill health, trauma, domestic abuse, poverty, disability, risk of becoming NEET, foster care and family breakdown.

Post-break surveys consistently show significant improvements in wellbeing, coping, self-esteem and family relationships.
