What is Co-Funding?

Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.

The ALMT is extremely proud of Peckhams Shed’s achievements. The ALMT is proudly supporting Peckham Shed’s Summer School, a fantastic two week programme with street dancing, circus skills, theatre arts, film making and comedy-acting drop-in sessions on week one. Week two provides an amazing opportunity to create a play from scratch in a week using the Peckham Peace Wall as a stimulus.

Peckham Shed consult with young people in the area to see what kind of things they would like to try and this shapes the sessions. They target those young people that don’t have parents or supportive adults in their lives. It encourages them to take part in extracurricular activities so they are not left bored and unable to entertain themselves during the holidays. During the summer these young people tend to fall behind in their learning development and, on returning to school, the gap between them and their peers living in more secure socio-economic backgrounds widens.

Sadly, Peckham Shed had to close at the end of 2013 due to lack of funds and capacity. However they achieved a great deal during their many years in operation and The ALMT is proud of the way in which they used the ALMT’s grant to train volunteers and deliver the summer school in 2012.
