What is Co-Funding?

Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.

Since 2015, Summer Hype has taken a group of young people from Hackney away every Summer for a week of camp in the countryside. Through activities and discussion, they grow in confidence, build resilience and learn new skills, all whilst having fun in a safe and nurturing environment.

Young people attending the programme have various vulnerabilities including: living in poverty; experiencing poor mental health; being at risk of exclusion or exploitation; and experiencing abuse, neglect or other challenges at home. Participants are nominated to attend by schools, local communities, youth groups and charities based on need and Summer Hype then supports them through each year of Summer camp. The fun activities, discussions and camaraderie result in improved confidence as well as increased teamwork skills.

When camp participants reach 16 they take part in a leadership training programme. The following year, these alumni join the team as Junior Leaders to help put on the camp for the next generation.

This year’s participants will be aged 16 and the aim of the camp will be to give them the skills and experiences to support them into employment or further education. Once trained, Junior Leaders are asked to take on more responsibility at the camp and take on specific roles thus teaching them further about responsibility.
