To end hunger as a barrier to education in UK schools through the provision of healthy breakfasts to children living with food insecurity
Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.
4.1 million children in the UK are living in poverty, with as many as 1.8 million school age children considered to be at risk of hunger. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Magic Breakfast worked in schools to provide free and nutritious breakfasts for children to help them learn.
During the pandemic, Magic Breakfast remains as determined as ever to provide children at risk of hunger with access to a free, nutritious breakfast at the start of the day. What they do is critical – Magic Breakfast is a lifeline for children who often have no food at home, and for parents/carers who can take comfort in knowing their children will be fed at the beginning of the day.
In partnership with an ALMT co-funder, Magic Breakfast is able to provide breakfasts to 880 primary children in UK schools over a 3 month period with this funding.
