Edward’s Trust is a specialist holistic bereavement charity, based in Birmingham, providing support to families across the West Midlands. Its mission is to stand beside bereaved parents, children and young people offering professional and compassionate care. The Edward’s Trust’s Black Country Project aims to provide support and counselling to bereaved parents, children and young people in Dudley, Wolverhampton and Sandwell.

Many bereaved children have poor long-term outcomes if they do not receive meaningful support. This outreach project provides accessible specialist counselling, bereavement support, advice and information for children, young people and their families are offered. The Trust’s Black Country locations bring expert support to bereaved families closer to home, reducing the need to travel a long distances at such difficult times.

Positive progress may be demonstrated in children starting to talk about their feelings; getting on well with family and friends; sleeping, eating, having fun and enjoying normal things again. This project will support children and young people to remain in education, demonstrate improved wellbeing and build a more positive outlook on their future.
