Miracles supports children and their families living in poverty and helps them through crisis situations such as serious illness.
Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.
The Christmas of 2020 sees over a third of London’s children living in poverty – that is over 700,000 children – as many as Scotland and Wales combined (CPAG). COVID-19 has had a devastating effect and during the 2020 lockdowns 35% missed at least one meal per day and went three days without eating any fresh vegetables or fruit.
Feed London is the response by ALMT partner, Miracles, to the desperate food poverty crisis taking place amongst children and young people in London, exacerbated by Covid-19 and specifically during the school holidays. This funding is supporting those children living in London’s five boroughs which have the highest child poverty rates in the country (Islington, Tower Hamlets, Westminster, Hackney and Newham).
Feed London is supporting 100s of families this Christmas and beyond by providing a delicious Feed London Christmas Hamper that will include ingredients for Christmas dinner, recipes with sustainable healthy eating ideas, a box of Christmas crackers and a supermarket voucher. Each box provides enough food for a family for a minimum of 4 main meals and contains left over ideas and recipe videos. Each box is tailored to each family’s individual circumstances and contains fresh and good quality ingredients (provided by Miracles’ delivery partner, City Pantry). The project is encouraging a whole family approach towards long-term healthy eating whilst also introducing children to the fun of cooking.
