Operation Smile - Worldwide
The Mac Bevan Smile Fund
Operation Smile provides free surgery to repair cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
Years: 2012, 2013, 2014
Working hand in hand with Operation Smile's World Care Programme, the Mac Bevan Smile Fund was developed by the ALMT and a few close supporters of the Trust. The Fund exists to support those with facial deformities too severe to be treated at Operation Smile's regular clinics. It provides the funding needed to provide the best possible surgery and treatment for the patient; this might mean travelling to another country and remaining there during recovery.
The Mac Bevan Smile Fund covers all the costs incurred during the process including travel expenses for both patient and parent/guardian, and accomodation both prior to receiving surgery and during recovery. The surgeries are conducted by volunteer surgeons and the Mac Bevan Smile Fund hopes to move into as many countries as needed.
The Mac Bevan Smile Fund believes in fairness for all and was created by a set of individuals whose lives were improved thanks to the generosity, mentoring and friendship of Mac Bevan, a great man.
