Midland Doctors - Pakistan - 2020
Responding to Covid-19 - Providing healthcare for the pandemic
Providing emergency healthcare for all.
Covid-19 has affected the most established of health systems across the globe. Midland Doctors Medical Institute (MDMI) provides coverage across a vast region of Pakistan administered Kashmir for those who can’t afford any healthcare. Currently there are approximately 4 operating ventilators for a population of 4 million. Midland Doctors has been working closely with the government and other healthcare providers to ensure that the local system can cope with the pressure of the pandemic.
This project will provide 120 ventilator days and 180 Continuous Positive Air Pressure days for patients with the virus as well as strengthening paediatric care, providing staff with vital PPE equipment and educating the community about the importance of hygiene and social distancing.
Post the Covid-19 crisis the Midland Doctors Medical Institute will be an important asset for healthcare in the region so that it can continue to deliver vital health care into the future for children and their families.
