City Pay it Forward - UK
Financial literacy for primary school children

Working in partnership with schools to teach students basic life skills including saving, budgeting, borrowing and investing.
Years: 2018, 2019

The ALMT have partnered with City Pay it Forward to ensure that every primary school in the UK has access to the material and the skills to teach financial literacy to year 6.
Financial literacy, especially early years intervention, is the key to educating the next generation on how to break the cycle of debt. This partnership aims to design, achieve accreditation, and disseminate a Teachers Manual to every primary school in England. The Financial Literacy Teachers Manual has been produced with the experience and advice of City Pay it Forward and 15 Primary School Head Teachers. The Manual includes everything teachers will need to teach the subject including homework material, multi-media presentations, speaking notes and classroom activities.
The ALMT and City Pay it Forward hope to play a key role in the education of young people in the UK who are currently lacking knowledge and information regarding money and the system within which we trust our finances. We believe that teaching financial literacy at primary level will give children the tools at a young age to be able to build strong money habits early on. If we can equip them with the primary knowledge, understanding, and skills, it could prevent them making poor financial decisions that could negatively impact upon their lives in the future.
