We are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and support and are delighted to say that we have exceeded our initial target and raised an amazing £93,360 (including gift aid, offline donations and match funding from RenaissanceRe and ALMT donors) – what a fabulous achievement and one that will make a huge difference to so many children this winter. Thank you.
This means that we are able to extend support for our existing partners so that they can help more families over the coming months. The first wave of funding will be going out today in time for the Christmas so that children from families who are really struggling will have a gift to open on Christmas morning and enough food to see them through the holidays.
There is however, so much more that we can do and if we can reach £100,000 we will be able to extend our support in the following areas:
- homeless young people in Blackpool, one of the most deprived areas of the country, offering warm accessible space for young people at risk along with hot meals and targeted support with accessing accommodation.
- families navigating extreme poverty in London, via our wide network of partners working with young refugees, many of whose families are navigating hardship in a foreign country with little or no access to public funds.
