The community in Jinja Disctrict, Uganda, particularly children with disabilities and their caregivers, continues to face significant challenges in accessing quality therapy, educational support, and assistive devices.

This project, building on the legacy of Soft Power Education and now led by BK Community Initiative aims to provide holistic support for children with disabilities and their caregivers through:

Community Therapy: Delivering specialized therapeutic services, such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy, within local communities.

Provision of Assistive Devices: Supplying essential assistive technologies, like mobility aids, communication tools, and adaptive learning materials.

Caregiver Empowerment: Providing training, resources, and support networks to caregivers, including workshops on therapeutic techniques and mental health support.

Nutrition Support: Ensuring that children receive balanced, nutritious meals tailored to their specific needs. This includes providing nutrition education, supplements, and dietary plans that support healthy growth and development.

By integrating nutrition support, the project addresses the holistic well-being of children with disabilities. Proper nutrition is vital for their physical and cognitive development, complementing the therapeutic and assistive efforts. Additionally, empowering caregivers with nutrition knowledge ensures that healthy dietary practices are maintained consistently at home, creating a sustainable impact.
