In Kenya, very few medical services are free. Hospital bed costs keep many families away from needed medical care requiring hospitalisation. The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) provides an In-Patient cover for the contributor, declared spouse and children.
It includes bed and drugs for all urgent admissions, a comprehensive maternity and CS (Caesarean) package in government hospitals and family planning services. NHIF does not exclude any disease. Guests at the annual ALMT Burns Night Gala dinner pledged to provide this insurance for families working with ALMT partner Tushinde.
