What is Co-Funding?

Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.

The Mekong wheelchair was designed in 1993 by two young industrial design students at the Royal College of Art London, to be made and used in Cambodia. Locally available hardwood is used for the frame and the two rear wheels are adapted bicycle tyres. Over 1,000 wheelchairs are produced and delivered every year.

These wheelchairs are making education accessible for disabled children and through the outreach work of the charity, are having a positive influence on the family, friends and communities around them. Guests at the annual ALMT Burns Night gala dinner are pledging their support to cover the cost of a wheelchair and offer someone the chance of mobility in Cambodia.
