What is Co-Funding?

Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.

Operation Smile coordinates medical mission sites in developing countries that repair childhood facial deformities whilst building public and private partnerships that advocate for sustainable healthcare systems for children. In developing countries there is an incidence of 1 in 500 births that a child will have a facial deformity. It takes 45 minutes and £150 for Operation Smile’s cleft lip surgery to take place. Operation Smile is looking to dramatically increase the number of children treated and the efficiency and comprehensive manner in which care is delivered.

This project is supporting the Moroccan Care Centre in Casablanca. Each child treated at the centre receives not only surgical treatment, but also dental, speech therapy, and post operative care for as long as needed. Additionally, the education programme conducted at the care centre is a valuable resource for both Moroccan medical professionals and physicians. This grant is supporting the purchase of medical equipment, dental equipment and medical supplies. Operation Smile named the Dental and Consultation Wing in honour of Angus to ensure that all of the children who receive treatment would know that it was, in part, made possible through Angus’s memory.
