One supporter for the ALMT will dive head first into the Thames to try and raise funds for our projects. The British Gas London Swim will start at the Royal Victoria Dock in London when competitors will line up to raise funds for their various charities. The ALMT is grateful that Chris Cheverall has chosen to support our work and to take on such a difficult challenge. The one mile swim which is equal to 64 lengths of a 25 metre swimming pool will not only be cold but incredibly busy as Canary Wharf's finest take the plunge. Chris said: "I was inspired to do more for the ALMT after hearing about some of the achievements that people close to the ALMT had accomplished at the Burns Night during the course of 2009. I read about open water swim events shortly after and as I have a dodgy knee and thought this would be a better thing to do that a running event and also an excuse to wear Speedo’s that I bought in a North Sydney Surf shop recently that have the words MANLY on the back of them. I have decided to fit the recommended 48 session training schedule into 6 weeks which more or less means training every night from now on until the event."
