Vote for Afrikids as DB Charity of the Year 2010

As a DB staff member and ALMT supporter you will know AfriKids have been the 50/50 beneficiary of our last two Burns Night Dinners and will be again in 2010 - which by the way will be at Madame Tussauds.

Like the the ALMT they works to alleviate acute child suffering. In this instance it is the suffering  which rips through the fabric of communities across rural northern Ghana.  All of their projects are locally owned and are addressed in a holistic, effective and sustainable manner.

Also like the ALMT they operate like a business; their monitoring and evaluation,  financial diligence and donor feedback are integral to the organisation.  Economic empowerment is the cornerstone of AfriKids: at individual, family, community and regional levels, everything they do must be linked to long term financial independence. As an example of what they do read the enclosed pdf that shows one of our projects with them to abolish child slavery in Ghanian gold mines.

I have been their principal sponsor as DB's Charity of the Year and here is the promise Afrikids have made to Deutsche Bank:

-    Make the most of an incredible fundraising opportunity that will have an enormous impact on AfriKids and our 100,000 beneficiaries

-    Use the funds we raise through Deutsche Bank efficiently, transparently and accountably

-    Ensure that children’s lives are turned around - for good - thanks to Deutsche Bank employees

-    Transform the way your staff engage with and perceive charity, making them feel valued, appreciated and in touch

Thank you

Nick
