Operation Smile (Morocco) May 2008
In July 2007 we donated £41,672 to Operation Smile in Morocco. They coordinate medical mission sites in developing countries that repair childhood facial deformities. The ALMT have now had the wonderful news that the Comprehensive Care Centre will be opening in May. The Dental and Consultation Wing is being named in the honour of Angus.

We are pleased to be helping another Afrikid’s Ghanian project. Next Generation Home (NGH), was established by 3 local men (one of whom is now the AfriKids Ghana Director) who in 1997 converted a public toilet into a home and took 14 children off the streets. ALMT donate £10,000 to buy a truck

Operation Smile coordinate medical mission sites in developing countries that repair childhood facial deformities whilst building public and private partnerships that advocate for sustainable healthcare systems for children.

Epic Arts (Cambodia) July 2007
Epic Arts work with disabled children and young people in Cambodia. At present Epic hires a building which has no wheelchair access to the main workshop and is confining in many ways. ALMT donate £33,941 to fund its construction.

For our biggest project, the Hebron Orphanage in Southern Inida, we are pleased to be donating an additional £22,345 for the Angus Lawson Vocational College.

Springboard (South London) July 2007
Springboard for Children aims is to challenge the effects of underachievement in deprived inner city areas and break the cycle of disaffection, alienation and frustration experienced by barely literate primary school children – feelings that can have a detrimental effect on a child’s life chances. Afrikids (Ghana) March 2007
ALMT are proud to announce that we have linked up with AfriKids, www.afrikids.org , and will work with them on one of their child rights projects based in northern Ghana; `Operation Sirigu'. The project began as basic funding to a local babies home in 1997 and has developed into a widespread child rights programme reaching the district's most vulnerable children.

IntoUniversity (North London) March 2007
The vision of IntoUniversity is to provide a national network of high quality, local learning centres where young people are inspired to achieve. At each local centre IntoUniversity will offer an innovative programme that supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to attain either a university place or another chosen aspiration. ALMT donate £40,000 for fund a new centre.

Afghan Connection (Afghanistan) January 2007
In December 2006 Peter Buckley and Mary-Jo Sullivan introduced us to Afghan Connection, a small charity set up by Dr Sarah Fane in 2002 after several visits revealed a country devastated by war and a land with no infrastructure and little hope.

Hebron Orphanage (India) January 2007
A DB colleague and friend Jockey Potter drew my attention an article in The Cambridge Evening News on 18th October about an orphanage in India called Hebron in Andhra Pradesh that is facing closure. ALMT fund £103,000 across a variety of projects.

Rays of Sunshine (UK) November 2006
In November ALMT became a ‘Godparent’ to the children’s charity Rays of Sunshine, that help children who are terminally or seriously ill fulfil their wishes.
