The Rebecca Ling Trust (Essex) June 2009

You may remember back in March 2007 we donated £5,000 to a young lady called Rebecca Ling to build a butterfly garden for her. After an operation to correct a curvature of the spine in 2006 Rebecca ended up paralysed. Rebecca has been paralysed for 3 years now.  Since then, to help her circulation, digestion, skin, muscle tone and bone density she has to stand on a special tilt table, ideally 3 times a week.  With the aid of huge straps it holds her in an upright position. At the moment, this is done at school, but she is due to leave her school in July this year, and then we will have nowhere to store this huge piece of equipment.  Rebecca’s parents are raising money for a room where she can have her physiotherapy carried out when she chooses, in the comfort of her own home. The ALMT has contributed £5000 towards the total cost. www.rebeccaling.com/
