The Ben McNicol Trust - UK
A home from home for families
The purpose of the Ben McNicol trust is to help children who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families. Treatment is often difficult and long and it sometimes involves spending a significant time away from home.
Ben's House provides short term accomodation close to the Children's Cancer Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton, for children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Treatment cycles are gruelling and are often more than a week long. Ben's House eliminates the need to travel daily and also ensures that the whole family can remain together during this extremely difficult time.
The ALMT has provided the funds to fully furnish and equip Ben's House making it a real home from home. At the end of each difficult day, families can recharge and most importantly spend time together.
