The 5th of February 2015 was a day to remember. Cafe de Paris played host to this fantastic evening which inspired and entertained 280 ALMT friends and supporters. Guests enjoyed the beautiful voice of Roberta Howett as they sipped cocktails kindly donated by the Famous Grouse and made by Blackleaf Events. After our talented piper Will Bissett addressed the haggis, ALMT partners, St Ann's and Sneinton FC and Street Child Africa, took to the stage to share their experiences of working with the ALMT Guests enjoyed bidding on some beautiful auction lots as well as direct charity pledges to current ALMT partners. As usual, the fun didn't end when dinner was over, the party continued until the early hours! Thank you to everyone who supported the event and to all those who attended. It is not what we do, it's what you do that makes the ALMT so special!

PARTNERSHIPS
AfriKids - Young Entrepreneurs Programme - Ghana

AfriKids supports vulnerable children in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The Young Entrepreneurs Programme (YEP) offers a lifeline to young people as they take the tentative steps from childhood to adulthood and from institutional care to independent living. The programme provides on-going support for young people that have spent much of their lives in AfriKids’ residential and transitional care homes so that they can either continue in formal education or pursue vocational training.

One to One Children's Fund - Day care centre - Kosovo

In 2014 the ALMT funded the first two multi-sensory rooms in Kosovo and in 2015 we are committed to ensuring the continuation of the valuable service provided by One to One Children's Fund. It has been over a decade since the civil conflict in Kosovo came to an end but the country is still dealing with the legacy of that conflict, particularly in the area of social and family services. The ALMT’s support will ensure that the day care centre situated in Peja, Kosovo, will continue to be run by skilled psychosocial professionals delivering individual, group work and multi-sensory support with the aim of maximising their potential.
ACE Africa - Uniforms and sanitary towels - Kenya

The ALMT and the Mac Bevan Foundation are joining forces for a second time to co-fund an Ace Africa initiative to improve access and attendance in schools for children, especially girls, in rural western Kenya by providing school uniforms, sanitary towels and counselling. 250 vulnerable children will be provided with a school uniform who would otherwise not be allowed to attend school. 1000 girls will benefit from a monthly supply of sanitary towels, providing them with the opportunity to be in school month round and c 100 children will benefit from a child counsellor.
Chess in Schools and Communities - coaching and development - UK

Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC) have identified a need which has arisen as a result of the success of the charity’s activities to date. The chess coaching provided by CSC has produced many gifted and talented players who lack the resources to compete with their peers from middle class backgrounds and private sector schools. As well as continuing to fund the further expansion of the Bristol programme, the ALMT are supporting 50 gifted players nationally to receive high quality chess coaching and take part in both team and individual tournaments.

SKILL SHARING SERVICES
Case study - HVP Nepal-UK

HVP Nepal-UK came to the ALMT looking for support in setting up a database to help in managing relationships within their organisation. As a volunteer led organisation, HVP Nepal-UK needed a database that would tie the organisation together and would enable them to communicate with all those involved in the charities activities, supporters, beneficiaries and all the volunteers that make it happen. The database will also allow HVP Nepal-UK to track donations and continue to attract more support which in turn, will help this fabulous organisation to grow and develop the projects that are already changing many lives for the better in Nepal.
