IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!
Christmas is a time for giving, and that's what the ALMT is best at. In 2013 we have given life changing grants to 14 amazing organisations, many hours of pro bono skill sharing and expertise to our partners and, dedication and compassion with our grief support service.

We would not be able to do any of these things without our supporters - THAT'S YOU - and the ALMT would like to say a huge THANK YOU for running, cycling, swimming, partying, buying, eating and above all GIVING, we couldn't do it without you!

NEW PARTERS FOR 2013-14

AfriKids, Operation SINGh - Ghana, Africa

Operation SINGh (Support in Northern Ghana)will directly fund the education of 150 children. Indirectly this project will benefit up to 2,000 people. In the long term the goal is to help disadvantaged children and young people acquire the skills to be able to fend for themselves. Without an education the children simply won’t have the skills to compete for jobs, set up businesses or pursue their goals. AfriKids also aims to build the entire family’s capacity in the hope that by the end of the project, they will have enough resources, and there will be a commitment in the family home to support the child to complete his/her education.
Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC)- Bristol, UK
CSC's mission is to improve children's educational outcomes and foster their social development by introducing them to the game of chess within primary schools and inner city communities. Learning chess is a life skill that can give an outlet to any child who masters it. The game often brings the most benefit to children in class who are the quietest, who struggle to get noticed in other contexts or have difficulty in normal school environments. The ALMT is proud to be supporting the expansion of this programme in Bristol.
Lotus Outreach - Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia

Lotus Outreach came to the ALMT in 2011 needing assistance in supporting its Girls Access to Education (GATE) project in Cambodia. The project supports the education of more than 600 girls in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Banteay Meanchey. The ALMT is working with Lotus Outreach and the Cambodian Women's Crisis Centre (CWCC) to provide scholarships to girls who are at-risk or survivors of violence in order to keep them enrolled in school and advance to further education if possible.
Wallasey Sea Cadets - Wallasey, UK

The ALMT are supporting Wallasey Sea Cadets in the purchase of vital equipment for their club house. By offering fun activities four nights per week and at weekends, Wallasey Sea Cadets is able to educate the cadets into becoming better citizens by tackling the problems of anti-social behaviour, street disorder, and addressing the problems of bullying, drug and alcohol abuse in young people. Wallasey contains two of the most socially deprived wards in Britain.
Jack's Rainbow - UK
When a child dies, particularly if that death is sudden and unexpected, there should be provision for the parents to take paid time off work. While many good employers offer compassionate leave, there is no statutory right to leave and this campaign aims to introduce four weeks of paid 'bereavement leave' for parents. The ALMT are working with Jack's rainbow to help make this happen. Sign the petition to show your support.
