Tinman: completed by hardcore Bruce Bratley

Hi All
Thank you all for your amazing support for my Tinman and your very kind and generous donations for the Angus Lawson Memorial Trust.
YOU RAISED an astonishing £5459 for ALMT. WELL DONE! Please check www.almt.org for updates on projects where your donations are being used.
I completed the Ironman yesterday in amazing conditions – windless, overcast, cool day with a few showers to thin out the wobbly cyclists. My splits are attached if you are interested, but basically I NAILED IT!!!
I was aiming for 6hrs 30mins, but did it in 6.05, which is an amazing result considering the course is VERY hilly and I am a crap runner. I was expecting to loose a lot of my cycling gains on the run, but managed to hold onto a steady 2 hour half-marathon. There’s plenty of room for improvement with the winner coming in at 4.17.
Placed 276th out of 1083 starters and 59th in my age group (218 starters).

Thank you again for all your support and I look forward to enjoying a beer with you all soon.
Take care
Bruce
